More than ten years ago I was told a story about the winter bird. In the winter, when the sun visits less, the great bear compells us to go inside self. That is where the winter bird keeps its nest. Bear is the guardian of winter bird, when we trust them, the reward is the trust of self. It is said that, to see the winter bird’s nest is to see the place we were born, and where we keep our dreams. To see the place where our dreams live, is to become the egg of those dreams. To next leave the nest is the hatching of dreams. To become sky, yet to be the source of one’s sky. To have living dreams, rather than dreams left to live. To be the perfect sphere where all futures are possible, though none are yet chosen. The sphere represents the egg of winterbird. It seems impermeable from the outside and is, because it is layed in the past, hatches in the future, and is cared for in the present. It is the moment of our greatest strength. When we find the nest,we find the possibility of choice. Our choices create the eggs, our awareness nurtures it, and the resulting birth, is our moment of rebirth.
